It’s 60’s Super Saturday And Here’s The Programme For The Day

After an amazing launch event last night at The Whitaker with fabulous singing from the children from the Wonderful Whitaker project,  coached by Sean Ruane, groovy music from Band of Brian, Kelly’s Heroes and the fantastic follow on live music from Original Replica at The Artisan. The Festival is now really heating up, and here’s the brilliant programme for today:

DJ Pete ‘The Soundmeister’ Sweetmore to play your favourite 60’s tunes at TESCO Rawtenstall today from 10.00am. Just go up to Pete, and for a small donation, he will play your favourite tune. Any money raised will be going to a good local cause.

The Whitaker will again be staging ‘Whitstock’ including flower power, art, family clowning and live music from Soul Revolution at 2.00pm and headlining at Whitstock ‘The Threetles’ at 3.30pm

The Artisan will have a 60’s open mic with John Doyle from 3pm until 7pm,drop in and play us a tune or two and a free pint if you can play anything from the 60’s!! and from 8.00pm, Chris Allen from The Troggs,The Animals and many more will bring his live set to The Artisan Stage with DJ Bunter playing 60’s classics all night!

The ELR Buffer Stop will have live music from 7.00pm

The Crown Inn in Bacup will also have a live 60’s influenced band on in the evening
