Over the last few weeks, the organisers of the Rossendale 60’s Festival have been receiving endorsements from band members for some of the original bands from the 60’s.
Derek Quinn, guitarist with ‘Freddie and the Dreamers’, says “ The Festival is my kind of music. It’s nice to see that people still appreciate the 60’s music which was a new generation of music. As soon as The Beatles released “ Love me do “ in 1962 the whole music scene changed with an invasion of groups. Happy days. I wish you every success with the 60’s Festival ”
Eric Haydock, bass guitarist with ‘The Hollies’ says ” wishing you all the best with the Festival“.
Chris Allen, Bassist/Guitarist and singer with the band ‘The Troggs’ says “please support the fabulous Rossendale 60’s Festival this September”
We’ve had a further endorsement from the 60’s band The Searchers who say “We wish everyone involved in presenting The Rossendale 60’s Festival a huge success. It is so good to know people are keeping our kind of music Alive. Frank Allen, john McNally, Spencer James and Scott Ottawa – The Searchers”
A lovely message of support from the legend that is Helen Shapiro who says “Thank you very much for telling me about the Rossendale 60s Festival. It sounds wonderful and I’m writing to wish you much success with this year’s event.I hope all goes well and that an enjoyable time will be had by all. All the very best!”
60’s Superstar Sandy Shaw has sent her best wishes for the Festival and says “Dear all in Rossendale, congratulations on your 5th Rossendale 60’s Festival. What an amazing thing to do. I really hope this one goes well for you all. Many thanks for keeping music alive! Sandy Shaw x”
