The Rossendale 60’s Festival has had a milestone year in 2017. It increased the number of events this year to 30 over 14 venues, and despite the atrocious weather the Festival will go down as the best attended yet. The organisers Barry Hyde and Pete Sweetmore have been blown away by the amount of effort that has gone into all of the events, and the response from the community in supporting them. Earlier this year, The Festival was shortlisted for the final of the Northern Soul Awards and has now been nominated for a Rossendale Business Award in the ‘Pride of our Valley’ category. This wouldn’t be possible without your amazing support.
It was particularly brilliant that a new generation really got into the groove

There were ‘happenings’ in Pubs and clubs all over the Valley
Community was the focus of this years Festival and we weren’t disappointed. It was seen in spades at New Kirk Fair, attended by the Mayor and Mayoress, and the Crawshawbooth 60’s dinner attended by Ted Robbins
Many shop in the Valley got into the 60’s Window Dressing Competition and added to the 60’s atmosphere
Despite the atrocious weather, the Scooter fraternity didn’t let us down

We were also treated to a clutch of Minis courtesy of the Oldham & District Mini Club
And music galore at Artisan and The Whitaker throughout the weekend, and for the first time we had Northern Soul at St Mary’s Chambers with Kieron Woodward.
Pete and I would like to sincerely thank all involved with the Rossendale 60’s Festival 2017 and hope that we have your continued support going forward
